6. AEP Dream Training: Module VI

BPI Senior Faculty

  • Learn about the nature of dreams and the imagination from an existential perspective.

  • Compare and contrast AEP work with other modalities: psychoanalytic, Jungian, etc.

  • Deepen psychotherapy and the therapeutic relationship through dream work.

  • Uncover the existential message of the dream as it pertains to the here and now as well as to experiences from the past that impact the here and now.

  • Learn to create dialogues among the characters in a dream.

  • Learn to expand the dream dialogue to create healing experiences.

  • Learn to work with PTSD, traumatic, repeating, and childhood dream images.

  • Learn to facilitate group enactments of individual dreams.

  • Learn to Integrate music and other creative art modalities with dream work.

  • Turn on and turn clients on to the power of dream work.

The Workshop: This training provides practitioners with hands-on experience working with their personal dreams and facilitating others. We will demonstrate dream work and review the AEP dream process as well as coach participants in facilitating one another's dreams. Professional issues in dream work are discussed alongside the existential, personal and transpersonal scope of the dream. We will explore various creative approaches in working with dreams. Prior experience with AEP or Gestalt is recommended.

The Workshop Leader: Robyn Chauvin, LPC, MT-BC, is a licensed professional counselor and board certified music therapist. She is certified in AEP and has more than 15 years of experience in private practice. She has worked with Denver Hospice, and has participated in in-patient chemical dependency, eating disorders, and personality disorder programs. Robin is a level III trainee in the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music. She is a faculty member in the Graduate School of Psychology at Naropa University and a senior trainer at the Boulder Psychotherapy Institute.
